Brief update

Hi folks,

Linda here. I just wanted to give you a brief update. I arrived home last night to find a very exhausted and weak Beth. She has had an unbelievably rough time while I was away. Poor caregivers and hot days were too of the big issues. I expect it will be a slow crawl to recovery, and am not sure to what degree she'll recover.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Beth will read them as she has time and energy.

I'll keep you posted on how things are progressing. Need to get some sleep now.

I figured heat was part of it, and I had a feeling poor caregiving was a LARGE part. Damn Beacon.

Beth, I am pulling for you and hoping you improve fast.

Dear Linda,
Thanks so much for letting us know how Beth is doing. I know that having you home again will help. So many here love Beth.

Linda, Cheryl,
Thank you so much for posting. And being the wonderful caring women you are.
Thank you for being the wonderful caring woman you are too! Your postcards and emails have been a great encouragement to me and I wish you relief from your suffering and the fortitude to face whatever life still has in store for you.
Also I wish that, one of those times when the Beacon "caregivers" are being wankers, some vicious little gnomes, defending your honour, would pop out from behind the fridge and throw rotten tomatoes at their Beaconly heads. Take that!

Stupid careworkers! If I wasn't on bed rest I'd come beat some @ss. Jesus, the indignity of how they treat her is just absolutely appaling!

Linda- that must have been horribly distressing to come home to, I hope you get over the shock and sleep well.
Beth- I hope you manage to recover enough to feel human again, I'll pray for rain/cooler temperatures :)

Thank you Linda and Cheryl for your sad updates, and for your incredible strength. For Beth, I so sincerely hope you come through this yet again. I have never ever encountered anyone with as much determination and grit as you. You are a remarkable, amazing teacher and person. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the lovely postcards, notebooks, manga, little gifts for my son, and always interesting, inspiring messages. I wish you could truly truly know and feel how you have moved people with your life, and that the good, kind, wise, feisty energy you've put out into the world could come back to you a hundred-fold. You deserve so much goodness.

Thanks for the updates, Linda and Cheryl. We're holding you all in our hearts.

When Beth gets a chance to read this (or hear it) - Beth, you are a warrior, a scholar, a humanitarian, a storyteller, and a loving human being. You touch the lives of many, both distant and close to you. You are an inspiration, and a muse, to all of us. Those who love you will be with you, in spirit if not in person, as you continue your journey.

Blessings and much love,

Lorna, Bob and Liam

Thanks, Linda. I feared poor care was a big part of the equation... It's frustrating to be too far away to help. (And horrifying to think that if an agency can treat Beth so, it certainly treats others so.)

Thinking of you both, and hoping for Very Much Better.
