Hi Ho, Hi Ho, off to Sakura-con we go! We have packed 2 wheelchairs, (mumble) suitcases and some things to be signed by Noizi Ito (a favorite artist of mine, I even have an art doujinshi!). There is the World Premier of Trigun, 3 weeks before it opens in Japan, only so far…..no subtitles. Will keep hoping for subtitles. We are all planning on going to the Masque Ball, and I am hoping to go to: Noizi Ito Autographing, Tea Ceremony, Kendo (martial art with bamboo swords – as shown in Bamboo Blade), Iaido (Martial Art), the Dazzle Vision concert as well as panels on various subjects. and Mayumi Tanaka, the voice of Pazu in Laputa: Castle in the Sky will also be there. So OFF we go (in 35 minutes!)

I took the ferry over yesterday and we saw two pods of killer whales (and took pictures!), one pod had 5, two adults and three young ones, they were not breaching for more than a second or getting high out of the water as this was a migration movement, sort of like going on a long car trip with the kids. So spring is here and the Killer Whale pods have returned to the Island!
The Purser, who is friends with me, said that this is the first sighting of killer whales this year. I, with great humbleness, pointed out that this must make me the good luck charm of the boat. He agreed then had to head off as we almost crashed into the pier backing in (see, I said ALMOST, I am STILL the good luck charm of the boat). Still, to only get out once this year and see Killer Whales is great. On to Seattle in 20 minutes or so.
Have a great time! I'm heading off to Anime Boston in a couple of hours, so we will both be enjoying cons at the same time (which I think is pretty cool!)
