To my partner, we saw the lava, we did the 10K's, everything people said was impossible, you were there, knowing the risk, seeing me spit blood and letting me do it anyway. If you weren't beside me, or waiting at the finish line, there would have been no point in finishing. For without you, a mountain is just a mountain, a forest just a forest, not a secret joy we shared. We made a pact, you and I. And because of that, I lived. I will keep living every day, because now, every day IS the finish line.I recommend watching it on Youtube in FULL SCREEN (High Res too!) HERE. You might have to adjust your Bass a little though as they don’t seem to do the complex bass well (or I don’t!). The song is We made a Pact by Hey Rosetta! And yes, I did write them for permission to make this video with their song. Very cool Canada group. Lyrics following
Lyrics from the song We Made A Pact
You,
You and I made a pact
A deal that as we lay dying
We'd think about eachother then
And smile as we're taken in
I,
I listened like a little child
To the story of your earthbound pilot
he plummeted so violent
A parachute not opening
And rushing to oblivion
He broke into that knowing grin
And I,
I think about that a lot
Cause a lot is what i've not got
And a smile is what I least expect
In the clutches of this darkness
You,
You I was surprised to hear
Your birdsong velvet in my ear
The phone broke its silent stint
But I pulled the cord and I needed it
You billowed like a bowl of silk
And slowed me from my ruining

I am crying hard. I will watch it again (and again, I'm sure). Thank you for giving us the lyrics to the beautiful song too. You did a beautiful job with this video.
I was telling my mom this weekend more about you when I told her about the gifts you two sent--and how Linda has been the constant for you, the joy in life after personal tragedy, and a continuing support for you now (and the rest of us, with her help in the Postcard Project).
I dreamed I was there last night visiting with you, Linda, and Cheryl. I so much wish I could.
For you, dear, yes, you live as no other, with unprecedented strength and vulnerability together. Who else would race in marathons and see lava and do all that you've done when so ill? Of course, it takes Linda's help too.
Am worried about you too, love.
You know you have supported me as no other through wheelchair use and a very difficult few years.
What a beautiful love letter - to Linda and to your life together.
What a lovely gift! What perfect words! How did Hey Rosetta know to write a song with you and Linda in mind? It was truly kind and generous of them to let you use their music for your video.
I seem to remember you saying you were working on a secret project. This was it, yes? Beautiful work, beautiful.
I'm so glad you have each other. You've been through so much and you keep supporting each other. Your love is amazingly strong!
*hugs* to both of you!
Beautiful video.
That is a wonderful video. Some great smiles despite the battles that have been endured.
As ever the images, the photos and the music go so well together. You've done Linda proud with this :)
That's terrific. That video conveys so much love and adventure.
This is a beautiful video Beth. And it made me cry. Thank you for the dedication and also thanks so much for putting up the lyrics. When you played the song for me before, I couldn't understand the last verse and now that I do it makes it even more meaningful.
Yes, lets keep living every day.
Fabulous! Your and Linda's love for each other is an inspiration.
Oh, how sweet!
Of course, you did it again. You made me cry.
Everyone, she's got more videos on there which are just as sweet.
What an awesome video! Any person in a wheel chair is a hero to me now.
I was just reading through the comments thinking "I bet that made Linda cry!" and then I saw her comment. Beautiful video, and thanks for sharing it.
Thank you, Bear. That means a lot on a day I feel like a loser. Got a new part-time job offer, met with them, realized that I absolutely can't. Still trying, trying to do something, more.
What a beautiful love letter you have created. I wept knowing how much you struggle and knowing I will lose you. I smiled thinking of the fun we have and reliving great memories. Thank you!
Thanks, it took three weeks to get permission and I think many weeks, many, many weeks to sort the pictures, and then to take the pool and arrange them again and again. It is a pretty simple video thing, but it is what I needed. I wanted a mixture of Doujinshi art and pictures. And I got permission for another song from them and two more from another artist, so I can make more videos.
Frida: We both live 100%, who could ask more, well, I do, though I should read those warning signs they keep putting up once in a while. I found out that without the will to go on, I rapidly deteriorate. Linda helps me go on, cheers me to dream, and catches me when I do the stupid things I will do. And is there for the great things too.
Lene: Thanks
Yanub: They were very nice about it, I explained it was a not for sale thing, and they were cool with it. I don't know, I think having us all go to Sakura con is the project.
Wendryn: This illness and caregiving has worn on us like nothing else, we used to have no fights, but when the borders of caregiving, independance, even mental capacity always shift, friction occurs, but we resolve and go on as one.
Timortinel: Thanks, I am glad you liked it.
Rachelcreative: Thanks, it took a lot of time, I would be very interested in seeing you do one with some of your pictures!
Avaitrix: Yeah, and the pictures don't show the half of the passing out or the excitment or the 'Oh, am I going to make this?
Beautiful. Just beautiful. Like you and Linda.
May gentle hugs that don't hurt, and a kiss on the hand, too, for both of you1
Neil
Oh, woman! Beautiful song, beautiful pictures, especially that last one of you and Linda. What a lovely big pile of memories of good times (and by extension the suffering and struggles that it took to make those beautiful memories). Thank you so much for sharing this.
Dear Beth,
The video is beautiful, as are both you & Linda. I remember many of the pictures - the times & adventures that went with them. You've shared your stories, your life & your friendship with me & allowed me to witness your love for Linda & hers for you. You lived! And so does an amazing love.
Sharon
Wow, a lovely product from all your work - well worth the time you've put into it. Hugs to you both, my dears.
Beautiful
Wendy T: Hello from Regina!
Beth: I took the liberty of posting the URL for your youtube video to a group of fine folks who comment on the cartoon Pibgorn at http://www.gocomics.com/pibgorn/ .
There were many replies, all saying how much they respect and admire your video, your strength of will, and your eloquence.
Zen hugs and lots of love,
Neil
