That’s a nice image of disability isn’t it? That we are not simply CFS/ME, or Firbro, or Fatigue, but our energized beauty is something to catch, to be grateful to see, like the morning dew. The dew is there, and then, later it is not. Similarly, when is the actual moment when the mind fog rolls in, or the body grows heavier; impossible to pinpoint (No, not on drugs, why do you ask?).Of course, if you are like a kid and run around with your arms out screaming and laughing and going in circles and then flop down suddenly going, “I’m tired!” Then it isn’t QUITE so mysterious. I miss that, I used to do that a lot as an adult, or roll down hills. As a teacher I used to take my class outside (the rolling down the hill was entirely voluntary!). Once a friend of mine was stopped and asked what they were doing, “Rolling down the hill, it’s fun!” was the reply.
“Move it along!” said the police officer. (There is something going on, people don’t just roll down hills as adults while laughing without SOME drug involved! Or so says police thinking.)
Ah, sorry, I tend to wander because I haven’t slept much for a couple days. I was more of the screaming and running full tilt to get some things done, so me tired not so mysterious. See, I have, with the assistance of Linda and the gracious services of Cheryl (who couldn’t join us until today sadly). Finished 21 more packages and MANY postcards. I would like to say about 45 or so, but I don’t know for certain. But I did it and before the Thanksgiving slowdown. I just finished, they are on the way to the postbox so ha! So there! Anyway, I am resting now and will be back with a full blog tonight. Linda is feeding me.
She has control because right now I am just sort of staring into space with blue fingers and going, “hehe….got them done….hehe…..did the stickers on them too…hehe….”Oh, time to sleep?
Later!

a) Congrats on getting so many packages and postcards done!
b) I love that last picture.
c) Sleep well!
I loved rolling down a hill as a kid. I would try it again, probably giggle all the way, then lay in a sobbing heap at the bottom thinking "Why the hell did I just do that?". It may be worth the pain. I'll just have to wait until spring and warmer weather before I give it a try.
For now,SLEEP. Ah,that does sound lovely and think I will do the same.
Time to sleep indeed. Dream of a long, shallow hill with sweat soft verdant grass ... I'm the guy in the pile at the bottom
sleepy time
and goodnight
leave your troubles
all behind you
There's more to the tune, but I can't remember it...
Rolling down hills is FUN. As is running through pigeons, and shouting at flowers: "You're nothing but a bunch of PANSIES!" (and they shamelessly are!). I think it is partly for these kinds of pleasures, among other reasons that your yearning to be part of a child's life is so strong. The presence of children is a great excuse to experience the world a child.
But who needs an excuse? (says she who has two)

The postcard total is 52...
Yes, time to rest.
Oh, and I love rolling down hills, splashing in puddles, playing in autumn leaves and all sorts of things that we adults supposedly grow out of.
Cheryl: actually it was 55, as one envelope held 4 postcard - so yeah, that was um, INTENSE! Thanks so much, next time I will be more rational. I will get back to work on a blog soon, I slept a lot longer than I anticipated.
Stephanie: Thanks, that is from an art book I accidentally bought and then found out it was like the Holy Grail of art books since it was out of print and no one could find it - I like the artist, she is very down to earth.
Tammy: Yeah, like you, I need lots of pain meds to get from point A to B so I am wondering what a drop from a hill would do, but those 30 seconds would be so worth it, and picking the dandelions out of my hair.
Victor: Ah, I slept and slept, and slept - seems like I kind of pushed myself. Now to find a hill!
Raccoon: I like the song though. Thanks. I was able to catch up so now I can send out cards to all my friends who have been missed a little in the last weeks (becuase I was behind in new requests).
One Sick Mother: I tend not to taunt the flowers as they tend to take revenge by giving you hay fever. Yes, people so easily forget how interesting the underside of furniture, especially tables can be! And hiding in the middle of clothes racks! Tops!
Glorious glorious thought! Rolling down hills, running down sand dunes, splashing through creeks, all that stuff... Just you and gravity, well a little bit of gravity and some other physics stuff like the bit that makes the water splash... and add it all together and get FUN! This is how you prove to a sceptical class that physics can be fun :P
OH well done for the postcard work too and sorry to hear less time to spend with Cheryl this time?
'Fading' like dew or light-sensitive flowers is such an excellent analogy. Maybe not around for long, but definitely to be appreciated while present! Love it...
Sorry I didn't write today. My body said sleep. I listened.
Wow, you sent lots of smiles today!
Love and Hugs,
Laura
Well I hope Linda is feeding you things that look as a good as that watermelon! I'm not even that keen on watermelon, and it looks good in such a yummy picture.
great work -congrats to you & your helpers. I haven't done any artwork or cards for the last week or so - I've really missed it. Hope you are sleeping well.
Some friends & I were rolling down hills at the local uni one night. rolling & laughing - we got stopped by the campus police & told to "move along".

Mehehe...I just thought of something... I did the "Adult" version of rolling down a hill earlier this year...
Had a tire blow out, crashed through a crash barrier and tumbled 20m down an embankment, head over heals ... hmmm ... head over heals, what makes you think as a kid I was always the one to get things totally wrong. The only air-bag that deployed was the side curtain ... didn't help much either as it just ended up smashing my glasses.
That at least was one of the brighter sides of this affliction because in my doctors own words... "Sheesh...you should have at least had a couple of broken bones, was it not for the lax legiments"
Just goes to show ... every cloud has a silver lining...and yours is at times shining, even though sometimes it doesn't seem like it. ;D
And don't worry, I of all people should know how weeks can turn to shit... Heck, a week ago, I was amused at my shoulders newest popping phenomenon ... now, I am not laughing any more. I either tore or lost the usefulness of one of the legiments in the rotator-cuff of my right shoulder ... without even knowing it... I am going for X-Rays & a Sonegram tomorrow to see if they need to get my muscles to pick up the slack ... pardo the pun ... or do some nip-tuck. I don't see how nip-tuck is going to do any good though, as it will most likely stretch out again and land me back in the same situation.
At any rate, I hope you enjoyed your feeding ;D. I was too weak to feed my self while in the hospital once...but I kept on grabbing the fork away from the nurse who was trying to feed me Mwahaha... Eventually I caved when I realised most of the rice ended up on top of my tummy instead of inside *blush*.
Exit light ...
Enter night ...
Take my hand ...
Were off to never never land!

Look for a package in the mail. Presents for you!
The sheer number is amazing! Sleep extra well tonight. You need it!

People just don't understand the concept of an adult doing something purely for the enjoyment of it. Oh, maybe if it's organized sports; then it's allowable, but the referees and the rules take the fun out of it. And then it's for their health, or for recreation. Where's doing something for just plain fun and laughs?
Sigh... Grups are too serious.
55 postcards: awesome! But please don't burn yourself out doing them.
Love and hugs,
Neil
I have a frined who's over 40 and still climbs trees and always carries a canister of bubble-making liquid. I like him a lot - he reminds me that life's supposed to be enjoyed.
Congrats on the very productive day!
Squirrels! Feeding squirrels might be considered relaxing, though it takes a friend to get you to the squirrels and home again.
Hoping you're okay tonight, and sending hugs and positive energy,
Neil
