At Hospital....details on the nightly news

I was taken to the hospital last night because I had a seizure and I couldn’t remember anything. I couldn’t remember the last 10 years and who the people around me were. My fingers were purple/blue and I had pain behind my right eye, behind the bone, for 90 minutes.

At the hospital they got me naked and I had another Seizure and they wanted to shoot me up with things (the doctor said Ativan stops damage), and I was unable to talk. But after an hour or two the pain behind the right eye went away and they eventually let me go with the doctor saying I was “bizarre.” As he remembered me from the heart time I went in. They do not know when I will remember everything. The doctor said that TIA’s do not happen in the same parts of the brain. He is calling my neurologist. That is all I know. For now, I am sleeping.

Oh elizabeth! I was worried about you when you didn't blog last night. so sorry that you had to go through this & another hospital visit. Hope you are sleeping. Would send you all my strength if possible. I'm thinking of you (every second), you & your lovely Linda. I know this is hard on her too.

Oh, and by the way, THANK YOU for increasing the font size on this blog. (Old fogies like me appreciate nice little touches like that.) :)

So I'm guessing it wasn't a good night? I wouldn't call you bizarre, but you do seem to do things in your own special way, don't you? Just remember that you are loved, and you are special to us all.

My family is sending positive vibes, all the strength we can, and wishes for hugs, calm thoughts and proper blood flow.

Best wishes also to your incredible sidekick Linda. You're both in our thoughts constantly.

That sounds like quite a nasty seizure you had. I hope that the consequences are minimal and that your sleep is healing.

Well Sis this was a more exciting trip to visit than anticipated but I am so glad I was there for you and Linda.

Everyone else: By the time I left to catch the late ferry Sunday a lot of the memory had returned.

All best wishes. You have shown so much strength in dealing with and bouncing back from all of your challenges and that ability to cope will see you through this time too. Wishing you and Linda well.

Cheryl G: Thanks for that!

Beth: since comments have appeared, I'll assume that you're still with us. This is a Good Thing.

We're still willing all possible strength and healing your way. Share what you don't need with wonderful Linda.

Every day with Beth in it is a good day.

Rest well, Beth. Fingers crossed that you didn't fry too many synapses. By Cheryl's description it sounds like not.

Hugs to both you and Linda. It sounds like you need them.

Sharonmv: I am sorry to worry you. I am not in the hospital but not better either. Hospitals are funny places.

Heather: I don't know if I am allowed to rest.

Anon: thank you.

Sara: I do remember the last time you complained about needing glasses and that wasn't good. I actually do have the blog at 110% already, this was becuase I forgot how to edit for a while.

Neil: Thank you, I am not so fond of the weather in Sask, but the people seem nice, once you can find them (they stay inside a lot!).

Dawn: Sadly it seems that someone else set up a life and now I am suppose to live it, and it doesn't have a lot of rest.

Lene: Thank you.

Yanub: Thank you, I sleep and maybe like coming back from a trip, I will awake one day and it will all be clear skies.

Cheryl: It was exciting for you, for me, people kept trying to stick things in me.

I also remember more, but more is not a majority, I think, I don't know - I can use the bathroom, and that is always a plus!

Victoria: I think that I had a plan for an event such as this but cannot remember it (that actually isn't a joke). So maybe I will find it - did I mention it on the blog? But I will go on and things will get better I think.

Maggie: sorry, I described you as "The woman who has sex with frogs" - errrrr, at least I remember you!!

Neil: thank you, I hope it gets light in Sask one day! That is the day the bugs come out, right?

Perpetual Beginner: I don't know, and I don't think the doctor knows I will wait for the MRI in a few months and they can compare spots and see, I guess. They wanted to do a CAT scan or CT but there was something wrong with that as a homeless woman had gone postal in there and might have barricaded herself in (I couldn't get all the words from the nurses station). So much for Canadian medicine.

Hi: Just saw your reply to these comments (a couple of days late!)

Sunrise happens at a very nice time of the morning at the moment. And yes, the bugs have started to appear for the summer.

As for people here staying indoors; that's not exactly true. They DO tend to stay in cars and malls in the winter, but it's spring now, and the people are blooming along with the flowers. LOTS of people out walking and jogging yesterday.

Saraarts: I saw your photo of the snow on the sidewalk, and I sympathize: we get three foot high windrows on the sidewalks, blocking the sidewalks, and making travel impossible for wheelchairs AND people who walk. You'd think they WANT us to get hit by traffic.

And when the snow's gone, the curb cuts are steep, and the roads are crowned so high I can't imagine a wheelchair climbing them anyway.

But this is right and all is good with the streets, because I work for the City. Yeah, and the gravel I slid on and smacked my hand is good too.
